About

A native of Bosanska Gradiska (Bosnia & Herzegovina), I currently reside with my family in St. Louis, Missouri. I have been creating metal-based artworks since 1990, when I shifted my energies from music to the visual arts. This continued when we relocated to Germany in 1992, and has increased in focus and output since arriving in the States in 1997. A member of the Best of Missouri Hands and Art St. Louis, I have exhibited and sold my artworks throughout the United States for several years.

My work bears shadows of my past. Experiences formed in my homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country that for years has been plagued by destruction and war, triggered the desire to create and give shape to wonders of nature. My fascination with trees in particular became the overriding inspiration and key component in my visual vocabulary. In my trees -- made with different gauges of electrical copper wire and aluminum welding wire and rocks that I find or are given to me -- I aim to create the sensual, delicate, yet strong and dynamic curves that mirror nature's bountiful manifestations. The man-created trees form a perfect antithesis to the rocks, which nature has shaped during its countless and merciless cycles.
